Egpyt

(Sphinx, Giza Pyramids, chicken & kebab, Abu Simbel Temple)

24th Dec to 1st Jan 2006 - Went to Egypt for 10 days. Egypt is very different to all the other places that I have ever been - so much history and so dusty! Arrived in Cairo and spent the 1st day exploring the Giza Pyramids - saw the great Sphinx and the great Pyramid. Got hassled lots by locals trying to sell us everything under the earth. Went on a camel ride around the Giza Pyramids (its not very comfy at all).

Took overnight train to Aswan the next day- went to Abu Simbel temple - built by King Ramses II - its the most impressive of all the temples i have seen in Egypt. The whole thing is carved out of the mountain.... its not just statues that are built and put there. Super impressive!!

Went on to Luxor and saw lots more temples of the Pharoahs and also went to the Valley of the Kings to see the tombs of all the pharoah. Went also to the Museum to see Tuttankamen's treasure and coffin.

Egyptian men are the sleaziest in the whole world - seemed like they have never seen a female person b4. Everyone else is also trying to scam us all the time. But overall, it was a really enjoyable trip, was a little over kebabs and hummous at the end and had to go and eat KFC twice (but they have hot & spicy ones).

Enjoy the photos
