This is Week 2 in Singapore. I did manage to go out and see more of Singapore on the weekend. We headed off to a poshy area near Chinatown - Club street for pre-dinner drinks, as our dinner reservation was for 10pm. Dinner was at an Italian Restaurant called Senso on Club Street and it will go down to as place that I will not return. My risotto was overcooked, service was not great, wine was not great - but the price was pretty steep.
After dinner, we headed to a Boutique Hotel's bar - the hotel was called Scarlett Hotel and they have a rooftop bar called Breeze. The ambiance was good and we had a nice quiet drink there. After saying goodbye to Rick and Karen, some of us headed to Clarke Quay. This is the new and hip area where lots of bars/clubs are concentrated. We headed to one called Le Noir, watched people parade around in their mini skirts and high heels. Most (around 85%) of the punters around Clarke Quay are actually westerners. This maybe due to the high prices of drinks in these areas, or maybe locals prefer to hang out somewhere else. I also noted another disturbing scene; which is very common in Asia. Where there are lots of Western men - there will always be very young Asian girls (some hookers, some just looking for rich husband), throwing themselves at this men. Sigh
After Le Noir, as some in our group are regulars in a night club called Attica, we headed there to have a look. Attica is a big 2 storey night club that played R&B in floor, and house music in the another. Crowd was again mostly westerners. We had our 1 drink, then we left - and it was 3am.
The next 2 days was spent on Orchard Road again, as Sha wants to do some shopping. We did have nice chicken rice at Far East Plaza and also fairly alright dim sum at China Square.
