I am slowly getting into the groove of things here. I survived my first "Month End" at work and have actually gone out a couple of times to check out the places around Singapore. I still whinge about not getting my skinny latte in the mornings, sandwiches at $8 and etc, but there are positives to the situation too.
In order to not spend too much time with myself, I have joined the Singapore Expats Forum and have met a couple of expats that are working in Singapore for coffee and cakes. I don't want to sound like a snob, but i do feel more at ease around expats rather than Singaporean :p
Places that I went to in the past 2 weekends. Attica in Clarke Quay when Julie and Alex (A couple that I met in Brazil) were in town for a couple of days. The famous St Jame's power station this weekend. St Jame's is an old power station that has been converted into the central Clubland in Singapore. Altogether, there are 8 clubs with different themes inside St Jame's. You pay 1 entry fee and you get to go to all of them. Nice concept. I managed to go to Movida (a latin club), The Bellini Room (a jazz and blues club) and The Boiler Room (R&B and hip hop) in 1 night before I called it quits.

When Alex & Julie were in town & Michelle's birthday at St Jame's
Cake at Menotti's in Raffles City. An italian cafe that serves a reasonable latte.
This one is called The Duomo, its spicy cream with dark chocolate centre. Yummy
Fried fish noodle soup (with milk) - Thats how they like it here in Singapore. Its a little strange. I think I prefer my noodle soup clear.
My neighbourhood. The East Coast of Singapore
