We arrived at 7am from a 11hours night bus ride from Santiago. Our hostel is called Hostel Refugio and it was 10metres from the bus station. Phew. Our main aim of coming to the town of Pucon was to hike the Villarica Volcano. Pucon is a nice and chilled little town, with lots of hiking possibilities.
The photos here do not include our hike, as I am having troubles loading photos. Our hike was 4hours up to the crater of the volcano, with full ice climbing gear. It only took us 1.5hrs to come down though, as we were sliding down the snow. It was a lot of fun!!!! We were disappointed when there is no more sliding! The view from the top was amazing and again, it was a sense of accomplishment when we reached the top. Hiking up steep ice mountain is not easy at all. We had to walk in zig zag and use our ice pick to stay in the path and not fall off.
We stayed in Pucon for 2 nights, after the volcano hike, we headed to an outdoor thermal pool to sooth our muscles. Ahhh.... so good!!!
