30th July 2005 - The day has finally arrived - its Global Gathering Day!!! I was very excited. Me, Thuy, Tina, Joel & Emily were in 1 car. Emily drove. Took us nearly 3 hrs to get there, it was raining and we were all praying hard the rain will stop once we get there. It was at an airfield with lots of grass & mud (not the nicest if it rained). Our prayers were answered, and rain did stop. First thing was to check out all the rooms (8 tents in total). Spent most of the time in Godskitchen's Tent. Tiesto played an amazing set in an outdoor "Beach Arena". Saw PVD, Mauro Picotto, John Digweed (crap) Armin Van Buuren, Fergie (crap), Eddie Halliwell & Judge Jules (he closed the night). Missed out on Carl Cox, Lab 4, Dave Clarke because I cannot be bothered walking all the way to the other tents. Walking to get water & to use the toilet was already bad enough. It was a great night! The whole Melbourne gang were there... plus Tina from Sydney. Left at 6am, dragging my sore feet - a memorable day out indeed.
Pilgrims have been walking the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage for over 1000 years. Its history and significance make it a spiritual epicentre for the Christian faith after Jerusalem and Rome. I will be walking the most popular route (The Camino Frances, The French Way) all the way to Santiago then to Finisterre
