Day 23 Leon to Hospital de Orbigo

Made a 29km day today. It was a 36km stage but we took the bus out of Leon bypassing the industrial zone and avoided walking the 7km out of the city. Started our walk at Virgen del camino instead.  

Had buffet breakfast at the parador before setting out at 9am and the first leg from Virgen del camino to Oncina which was only 4km away. 

The meseta continues and it was cold this morning. I only took my coat off at 2pm. We walked pass another few villages which had nothing and stopped for lunch at Villar de Mazarife at 1pm. After lunch it was a 10km of open fields to the next town of Villavante. We stopped at the alberque there to air our feet and use the bathroom and quickly started walking again - the last 4km to Hospital de Orbigo. 

We have been walking for about 7hours at this stage so the last 1hour was quite tiring. Fatigue was setting in and it was a great relieve to arrive at Albergue Verde which is a totally vegetarian Eco friendly alberque. Since we walked so much today we decide to have the vegetarian meal here instead of walking out to town. 

Tomorrow is a short 17km walk to Astorga
