We didn't leave Arzua till 8:30am as we sat in the cafe with free wifi to book our hotels in Santiago as we will arrive in Santiago tomorrow.
Walked through half woods/forest half highways today and most of it were through un-interesting little hamlets. We has our 2nd breakfast at Calzada and went on to walk the 6km to Salceda very easily. I walked and talked with Lee most of the way and then after Salceda the 4 of us walked together. We walked passed Santa Irene which was uninteresting and finally arrived at A Rùa which was 1.5km out of Podrouzo and was about to say goodbye to Lee when Kelly came running out and told us they are having lunch inside. When we saw what they were having we decide to stay for lunch and had a delicious meal.
Since we are so closed to Santiago, everyone that had started in St Jean a month ago is feeling a bit more relaxed now. I guess its pre celebratory drinks and finally feeling that we have reached our goals after more than 1 month. We start to drink wine/sparkling when we stop for lunch and rest now and just get a little silly.
I can foresee what Santiago will be like when we get there.
Tomorrow we will walk into Santiago. A short 20km into the suburbs of Santiago and another 4km into the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. Lots of people are feeling bitter sweet as their journey is nearing and end. I will walk to Finisterre so my journey is not ending yet.
